A conference held in the Qamishli (Qamishlo) canton of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES). Lawyers attending the conference called on the international rights organisations to act against the Turkish offensive in Afrin.
Serious violations of human rights in Syria and crimes reportedly committed by the Ankara-backed Syrian mercenaries in Afrin (Efrin) were discussed at the conference.
Mihemed Emin Neimi, a lawyer from the Cizîr Region Lawyers Union said that Turkish state and affiliated jihadist mercenaries have committed crimes against humanity in Afrin for three years.
”We hope that the silence of international law organisations will end. They must play their role in a constructive way,” said Heyhan Eli, the director of the Afrin Human Rights Organization.
