A video has emerged showing Turkish forces and allied armed opposition groups burning olive trees in a village under Turkish control in northern Syria.
The footage, published by the local Hawar News Agency (ANHA), comes from the village of Turkish-controlled Qasimiye, five kilometres from Tal Tamr (Til Temir) district in Kurdish-led North and East Syria.
Along with the video showing a group of mercenaries burning olive trees, images shared by ANHA from the village, where the population has been displaced by Turkish forces and affiliated militia groups, reveal destroyed houses, and houses that are missing doors and windows, presumably stolen.
The footage emerged after the United States imposed sanctions on Turkish-backed armed groups in the region, citing serious violations against Kurdish residents.
Meanwhile, ANHA reported that Turkey targeted another village west of Tal Tamr district with drones on Friday.
