Spokesperson for the Turkish Presidency recently confirmed that the next round of the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine will be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
While İbrahim Kalın made this announcement on Twitter on Sunday, the Ukrainian official David Arakhamia said that the peace talks will be held between the 28 and 30 March.
The delegations of two countries are expected to arrive in Istanbul on Monday. According to sources, Russian vice defence minister Aleksandr Fomin will arrive in Istanbul for the talks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday in a video message that Ukraine is willing to discuss the ‘neutral status’ of Ukraine in Istanbul.
Zelenskyy also set out his red line for the negotiations, saying, “Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are non-negotiable, and effective guarantees of security for Ukraine are mandatory.”
