Turkish state-owned warplanes attacked the town of Dêrelok in Duhok, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on Sunday 13 August. The assault, which occurred in the early morning hours, ignited fires in gardens and orchards belonging to local citizens and caused widespread panic among the residents, though at the time of reporting there are no known casualties.
The attack on Dêrelok is part of a broader pattern of Turkish military interventions in the region. Including this latest, there have been four aerial attacks conducted by Turkey in Iraqi Kurdistan in the past week, resulting in several casualties:
Çemanke village, Duhok, 6 August: 1 killed, 2 injured
Dukan district, Sulaymaniyah (Silêmanî), 9 August: 2 killed
Pêncîwên district, Sulaymaniyah, 11 August: 3 killed
