The current Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş has said that the ongoing discussions on resolving the Kurdish issue should take place within the Grand National Assembly.
Speaking at an event in Şırnak (Şirnex) on 19 May, Kurtulmuş said the Kurdish peace process was “continuing as planned” and stressed the importance of a political and legal framework. “The place where this issue should be discussed — both in terms of political dialogue and legal groundwork — is the Turkish parliament,” he said. “All political parties will support the process.”
