A Turkish drone attack targeted a clinic in Aleppo countryside on Wednesday, North Press reported.
The clinic in the town of Tel Rifaat, which includes women’s and children’s healthcare facilities, suffered massive damage. However, there were no casualties as the building was empty, according to an eyewitness.
Turkish forces have escalated the shelling of villages in the countryside north of Aleppo since early May. Tuesday saw villages between Afrin and Aleppo heavily shelled, forcing residents into shelters.
Tel Rifaat has increasingly been in Turkey’s line of sight since Afrin was occupied and its residents sought refuge in the town. It has been controlled by Syrian government forces with support from Russian troops since 2018.
