The Turkish army, along with its affiliated Islamist factions, launched a bombing campaign on Friday, targeting a hospital within Tal Rifaat (Tıl Rifat) district of al-Shahba (Şehba) in northwest Syria, with Hawar News Agency (ANHA) reporting several injuries.
Responding to these events, the health body in the Afrin (Efrîn) and al-Shahba cantons released a statement, condemning Turkey’s continuous bombardment of the al-Shahba areas, which have become the home to hundreds of thousands of forcibly displaced civilians. The health body strongly denounced the Turkish state for breaching international and humanitarian laws by targeting the hospital in Tal Rifaat district. The statement revealed that four civilians, including a member of the medical staff, were wounded as a result of the attack.
The health body’s statement urged the international community to intervene and exert pressure on the Turkish state to halt its attacks on innocent civilians.
According to the health body, the victims of this attack are Mukhlis Ahmed Naasan (25), Abdullah Abdul Rahman Murad (40), Muhammad Hamid (45) and Mustafa Hassan (27). Two individuals remain in critical condition.
