The People’s Democratic Party (HDP) has been making preparations for a fundraising campaign for the forthcoming elections, in case the country’s Constitutional Court upholds its decision to block the pro-Kurdish Party’s Treasury support accounts.
The HDP will appeal the Constitutional Court’s decision announced on 5 January, which the party called a “judicial coup” aiming to prevent it from engaging in political activities on equal terms with other political parties.
The party was set to receive 539 million TL for 2023, 179 million TL of which was to be received on 10 January, Gazete Duvar reported.
Party executives told the news site that they are used to running election campaigns with the support of their voters, and have been preparing for a fundraising campaign for individual donations.
