Six weeks before the 13th presidential and 28th parliamentary general elections to be held in Turkey on 14 May, the Green Left Party Women’s Assembly released their election songs “Dîsa jin, dîsa jiyan” (Woman again, life again) in Kurdish and “Kadınlarla değiştireceğiz” (We will create change with women) in Turkish, on their social media accounts on Sunday.
The lyrics and music of the two songs, released as the party’s women’s assembly announced its election declaration in the capital Ankara, are by Kurdish musician Devrim Demir, and they are performed by the women artists’ collective Komîna Tevna Jinê.
