The Turkish military has transported new equipment to strengthen its positions in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib, said a war watchdog on Saturday.
A new military convoy of Turkish forces compromising 15 military machines, trucks carrying heavy equipment and personnel carriers have entered Idlib, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said, citing its activists on the ground.
The convoy headed towards the Turkish checkpoints in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib countryside, it added.
Idlib remains the last remaining stronghold of Turkish-backed Syrian rebels opposing the Bashar al-Assad government in Damascus.
The province, which adjoins Aleppo, was severely damaged and suffered the majority of the deaths in Syria resulting from the 6 February twin earthquakes centred in Turkey.
The province is also home to some three million people displaced as a result of the 12-year long civil war in Syria.
