Turkey launched a military operation against the Derarê, Koordine, and Stuna areas of the Zendura region of Metina, one of the Medya Defence Zones in northern Iraq, at 8.00pm on Friday, reports Hawar News.
According to local sources, the bombed area is at the border, also known as the Kashura line. While the border stations in the region were attacked with mortars and howitzers, it was also reported that the operation has been continuing with the use of heavy weapons such as Cobra and Sikorsky helicopters.
Military activity has been observed at the Elemon and Kopkî outposts at the border and helicopter activity has been witnessed in Bamernê.
Meanwhile Turkey bombed the Mamresho region of the Avashin area of the Medya Defence Zones with Cobra-type helicopters on Friday evening. People’s Defence Forces (HPG) and Free Women’s Units YJA Star forces responded to the attacks, and the clashes are still ongoing.
