“This election has taken place under very challenging conditions,” stated Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, presidential candidate of the opposition Nation Alliance and leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), during his visit to the polling stating in Turkey’s capital, Ankara, to cast his vote for the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday.
Supporters gathered in the garden of Arjantin Primary School as Kılıçdaroğlu arrived to vote, passionately chanting “People’s hope, Kılıçdaroğlu,” expressing their unwavering support for the candidate.
Following the voting process, Kılıçdaroğlu spoke to the media and made a heartfelt appeal to all citizens, urging them to actively engage in the electoral process. He emphasised the significance of the elections in breaking free from oppression and establishing genuine democracy in the country.
Acknowledging the unequal conditions between himself and the incumbent President Erdoğan, Kılıçdaroğlu stated his unwavering faith in the common sense and wisdom of the people. Expressing his gratitude, he thanked “everyone who has come to the ballot box, exercised their right to vote, and fought for their democratic voice. Thank you, thank you.”
