A Turkish drone struck a car and wounded at least one person on the highway in Sulaymaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan, Rojnews reported on Monday.
The drone attack came less than two weeks after Turkish shelling in the Iraqi Kurdish town of Zakho killed nine people, including three children.
The attack was up for discussion at a July 26 meeting of the UN Security Council, during which Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein demanded the withdrawal of all Turkish troops from Iraq.
However, Turkey has denied responsibility for the Zakho attack, blaming it on “terrorists”. Turkish officials say they will continue military operations in northern Iraq.
