The People’s Protection Units (YPG) issued a statement on Saturday regarding an incident in which Turkey allegedly targeted their forces using an Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in the Ehdas district of Aleppo (Heleb) in northern Syria.
The YPG reported that the attack took place at approximately 16:45 local time, resulting in the death of three YPG fighters and injuries to two others. Additional information about the deceased fighters will be provided at a later time, according to the YPG.
The press statement also drew attention to the ongoing Turkish attacks in other areas. It was reported that the Turkish forces have been conducting bombardments using heavy machine guns and artillery in Bêlûniyê village in Shahba (Şehba), Şewarqa village in Şera, and Bênê village in Şêrawa district of Afrin (Efrîn). As a result of the artillery shelling, fires broke out in the fields of Şewarqa.
Furthermore, the YPG highlighted the Turkish army’s continued reconnaissance operations in Shahba and Afrin, utilising surveillance planes to gather information.
The YPG called upon the international community to take prompt action to address these ongoing attacks and to hold Turkey accountable for its actions.
