Nusreddin Saltabaş a public prosecutor in the Turgutlu district of Manisa in the western province of Turkey became popular after sharing various videos on the social media platform TikTok.
However the prosecutor was dismissed by the 2nd Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) on the grounds that his videos and attitude were incompatible with the dignity of the profession.
The videos published by Saltabaş, who works at the Turgutlu Courthouse, are a popular topic of conversation at the courthouse.
In the videos Saltabaş is seen singing songs and also recording himself while doing sports and exercise including push ups etc…
When the young prosecutor’s videos were widely reported nationwide, he closed all of his social media accounts but the Council of Judges and Prosecutors still took action against him.
The 2nd Chamber of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors decided to dismiss Saltabaş on the grounds that he made posts on social media that were incompatible with the dignity of the profession.
People in Turkey are divided into two, while some were arguing that as a citizen he has rights to share videos on TikTok, while others thought that a prosecutor should be more careful about his posts.
