A suspect of Friday’s Moscow attack revealed details of his recruitment and travel from Turkey to Russia in a video of an on-site interrogation that was released online.
The video, shared on the X platform by Turkish journalist Ragıp Soylu, appears to show Russian security forces interrogating a man identifying himself as Feridun Şemseddin. The man confesses to being recruited for the attack on Moscow, being contacted via Telegram and his journey from Turkey on 4 March, admitting to receiving half of the promised 1 million rubles for his involvement.
Şemseddin’s statement coincides with findings by Turkish journalist Hale Gonültaş about ISIS’s Khorasan branch using Turkey as an operational base, a narrative further supported by the recent ISIS attacks in Iran facilitated through Turkey.
This revelation comes in the wake of the tragic attack on Moscow’s Crocus City Hall on Friday evening, with over 100 lives lost and nearly 200 injured.
Russian authorities, responding to the severity of the incident, have launched a comprehensive terrorist investigation, detaining several individuals linked to the attack.
