KONDA Research and Consultancy Company has just published an “August 20 Barometer” survey report about people’s attitudes towards the Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (commonly referred to as the İstanbul Convention). Only 7% of people in Turkey wished to withdraw from the treaty. The treaty obliges the state to fully address these concerns in all its forms and to take measures to prevent violence against women, protect its victims and prosecute the perpetrators.
