Doğan Çetin, who was carrying out his compulsory military service in Edirne, was subjected to racial discrimination, assault and verbal abuse by two soldiers when he spoke in Kurdish and also said: “I wish we had received an education in Kurdish”. After his assault, he filed a criminal complaint. He said: “I fear for my life”.
Doğan serves in the 54th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command in the Süloğlu district of Edirne. He stated that he was attacked by two soldiers named Yunus Karakoç and Uğurcan Yaman on 15 August.
