A delegation of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) commanders made a Christmas visit to the Syriac Catholic Churches in Hesekê.
According to Hawar News, upon the request of SDF General Commander Mazlum Abdi, a delegation from SDF made a Christmas visit to the Assyrian Catholic Churches in Al-Hasakah (Hesekê) in northeastern Syria. The delegation first visited the Assyrian Military Council. SDF General Command Advisors Rêzan Gulo and Mensur Hec were accompanied by Emced Dawûd, one of the Commander of the Syriac Military Council, and Seher Dawûd, a Member of the Military Relations Bureau.
Welcoming the SDF delegation to the Central Syrian Catholic Church, Archbishop Mgr. Joseph Shimei expressed his pleasure with the visit.
Stating that the SDF’s struggle is sacred, Shimei said, “SDF liberated northern and eastern Syria and saved the whole world from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). They showed great resistance in every field. It is an honor for us to greet this struggle of the SDF. We should make efforts for peaceful dialogues to continue,” he said.
“Our goal is to free the region.’’
Speaking during the visit, Emced Dawud stated that they are honored by the support of all peoples and that they will continue their struggle to liberate the region.
Rêzan Gulo also celebrated Christmas and wished that Christmas would bring peace to the whole world.
