Attacks from Turkey and its mercenaries against Ayn Issa remain ongoing with the use of both warplanes and reconnaissance planes. Ayn Issa is a town in Tell Abyad District of Raqqa Governorate in Syria. This town has an important strategic position in the region due to its geographical location. This region is where the international M4 road is located. It connects the city of Aleppo with the border gate of Hesekê, Qamislo and Til Koçer along the Iraqi border.
Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Co-Chair Amina Omar spoke out about the attacks of Turkey against Ayn Issa and criticized Russia (which is officially the guarantor of peace in the region, as a signatory of the Sochi Agreement) for not stopping Turkey’s attacks and aggression.
Omar said: “Turkey aims to invade new regions of Northern and Eastern Syria with these attacks. By eliminating the security of the region, it aims to separate the strategic M4 highway and break the communication links between Northern and Eastern Syria”. Omar added: “Russia is pressuring the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to hand over Ayn Issa to the Syrian Government”.
