Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) co-founder Sakine Cansiz, Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) Paris representative Fidan Doğan and KNK Youth Movement member Leyla Söylemez were assassinated in Paris, France, on 9 January 2013.
People from Kurdistan and their supporters are organising a rally on the anniversary of the death of the three Kurdish women politicians. Stickers and posters are to be seen on the walls in Paris and leaflets have been distributed providing details of the march and meeting, to be held on 9 January. Around 10,000 stickers, posters and leaflets have been distributed in Paris and its suburbs, calling for participation in the event.
