Actions protesting the arrest and abduction of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan on the anniversary of 15 February 1999 continue in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Protests took place in Solemaniyah and Qandil, and a march was held in the Kelar district of Germiyan.
Herêm Mehmud spoke during the action and said the people of Iraqi Kurdistan are following the ideas of Öcalan. I call all supporters of freedom and patriots to fight against the enemy and to be motivated by national unityto resist against the occupations,” he said.
Youth in Solemani also protested the anniversary of Abdullah Öcalan’s arrest, as well as the recent attack on Gara.
Locals in Qandil protested the arrest and abduction of Abdullah Öcalan and took part in marches and events whilst the women from the Şerwêtî village also marched to condemn the assaults against Gara.
