Protesters set fire to headquarters of PUK and PDK in Sulaymaniyah

Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK) headquarters have been set aflame in Piramagrun district in Sulaymaniyah province of Iraqi Kurdistan on Sunday on December 6.

Protesters took to the streets of Piramagrun in Sulaymaniyah (Silêmanî) province and set fire to the headquarters of both PUK and PDK, as the protests still continue.

This evening in Piramagrun in Sulaymaniyah province, the protests began against the lack of providing salaries and bettering the public’s economic conditions.

Protesters headed first towards the PUK headquarter commissions. After the headquarters had been left by the national guards and senates, the protesters proceeded to set fire to the headquarters’ building.

The protesters then headed towards their second target of PDK headquarters. The national guards in front of the PDK building had fired shots at the protesters, however, the protesters refused to back down.

According to a video made viral by news agencies, the PDK headquarters had burned down as well just moments ago this evening.

The protests are yet to continue as the protesters plan to burn down most of the political parties’ headquarters, while official forces try to refrain and stop the incidents.
