There is still no information regarding three people detained by Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) forces at Erbil (Hewlêr) Airport on 10 June as they were about to meet guests from abroad.
It has been 39 days since the detention of Democratic Unity Party (PYD) Representative for Erbil Mistefa Osman Xelîl, Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) Representative Cîhad Hesen and PYD member Mistefa Ezîz Mistê.
No information has yet been provided by the KDP on their circumstances.
The PYD announced that the Kurdistan Regional government bears the responsibility for the three Kurdish politicians, and that they will continue working to clarify the situtation concerning their representatives.
“We call on the Southern Kurdistan government to explain what has happened to our representatives and to release them,” the announcement went on. “We are monitoring developments closely. We have information that our representatives have been handed to enemies of the Kurds. We regard the detention of our representatives and furthermore the refusal to provide information about their fate as an offence directly against our party and our efforts for national unity.”
