The new Newroz song – composed and performed by various Kurdish musicians and entitled ‘Dîsa li Newrozan’ (‘Again in Newroz’) – was publicly revealed at a press conference in Turkey’s southeastern province of Diyarbakır (Amed), known to many as the ‘heartland’ of the Kurds. At the press conference, the Kurdistani Alliance shared their Newroz 2021 declaration.
The song for Newroz 2021 will reportedly be celebrated in 61 centres in 30 provinces in Turkey with the slogan ‘Let’s resist with the Newroz fire, let’s be free’. The new Newroz song ‘Dîsa li Newrozan’ (‘Again in Newroz’) was composed by Mihemedê Pirosî and performed by a chorus consisting of the singers Dîlan Yiğit, Jiyan Savcı, Cejna Saruhan, Kadir Çat, Umut Botan, Murat Bakrak, Devrim Özlük, Mêrxas Viyan and Merve Admiş.
