Mustafa Karasu, Executive Council Member of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), shared his thoughts on Turkey’s Garê operation in a special broadcast on Medya Haber TV.
“The AKP-MHP alliance attacked the Garê region to save and recover their collapsed power”, said Karusu. He suggested that the mission was not to save the Turkish captives, “but all of them were killed due to chemical gas weapons used by Turkey’s military forces during the operations”.
‘Strategies developed without taking the PKK into account will fail’
Karasu shared his view that Turkey’s attacks on Garê mountain should be seen as more comprehensive than the Turkish state has revealed, and that the purpose of the Garê attack needs to be well understood by the general public.
”The political consequences of the attack will be massive”, he said. “It showed that all strategies developed without taking the PKK into account will fail throughout the Middle East. It is not possible to destroy this freedom movement. Turkey and the Middle East will be democraticised by our struggle. In the Middle East, the Turkish state is the main obstacle to democracy. It is the Turkish state that destroys Syria today”.
‘Beginning of the end’ for the Turkish government
Karasu also said that the debates in Turkey raised by the opposition are the “beginning of the end” for the Turkish government. “The Garê operation will raise questions targeting the ruling power [in Turkey] and will lead to the collapse of this power. Yes it will collapse. It is the beginning of the end”, he said.
Mustafa Karasu also noted that the victory of the Kurdish forces in Garê will be reflected all over the Middle East and in the other parts of Kurdistan, especially southern Kurdistan, which is within the borders of Iraq.
“Attack on Garê and the vistory of the guarilla has led to a mindset of revolution in Bashur (South Kurdistan). This victory has changed the perception. What will Bashur people think? ‘The PKK and guerrilla defend us.’ The KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) has cooperated with the Turkish State, which targets the occupation of the Bashur,” he said.
