The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) and the Foreign Relations Department of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) have issued strong condemnations of Friday’s attack in Moscow, which led to the tragic loss of innocent lives. The Kurdish-led northeast Syrian entities extended condolences to the families of the victims and the Russian Federation, emphasising the attack’s demonstration of ISIS’ ongoing global threat.
The SDC articulated the urgent need for cohesive international action, stating, “This attack proves terrorism’s ongoing threat to world peace,” and highlighted the importance of global unity in combating terrorism for sustainable stability. Similarly, the AANES’ Foreign Relations Department remarked on the similarity of the violence targeting civilians in Moscow to that experienced in their regions, reinforcing the shared struggle against terrorism.
Both entities called upon international and global powers to intensify joint efforts to achieve lasting stability and work towards calming conflicts worldwide, underlining the necessity of eliminating terrorist groups. “The Russian people, along with all people around the world, deserve greater safety and peace,” the SDC concurred, advocating for a unified response to the persistent danger of terrorism.
