New-builds collapsed in a fresh earthquake in Turkey’s eastern province of Malatya on Monday, measured at 5.6 on the Richter scale.
While the Turkish public heatedly debate whether it is proper that the Turkish Red Crescent sold tent stock in the aftermath of the 6 February earthquakes, new light was shed on Monday regarding the commercial affairs of the charity-turned holding company.
The Kurdish-led autonomous administration in northern Syria on Saturday called on the international community to impose targeted and severe sanctions against Turkish officials in response to Turkey’s ongoing attacks.
The US Embassy in Ankara on Monday reiterated support for Turkish authorities, thanking them for “preventing terrorist threats” in Istanbul, after the US consulate previously issued warnings over travel to Turkey in early February, after tensions were raised by a series of anti-Islam protests in Europe.
