US Senator Chris Van Hollen has proposed that the United States impose sanctions on Turkey if they follow through with their threats for a full scale invasion into North and East Syria.
Turkish customs guards beat a 58-year-old Kurdish woman on Monday at the Habur border point with Iraq, in the predominantly Kurdish-populated province of Şırnak in southeast Turkey.
Local human rights watchdogs in Afrin northwest Syria talked to Kurdish, Arab and Yazidi victims of what they called “arbitary arrests and torture” in detention centres run by Turkish backed factions in the region, known as the Syrian National Army.
