The US delegation consisting of Acting Assistant Secretary Joey Hood, Deputy Assistant Secretary and Acting Special Representative for Syria Aimee Cutrona, Deputy Envoy for Syria David Brownstein, and White House National Security Council Director for Iraq and Syria Zehra Bell visited North and East Syria.
The delegation held a meeting with officials of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) and also the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
The US administration announced for the first time that it met with the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) and the Autonomous Administration (AANES) in addition to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The visit was also officially reported in the US government’s website: “The US is committed to cooperation and coordination in the Coalition to Defeat ISIS” (the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria).
SDF’s General Commander Mazloum Abdi stated that a constructive meeting was held with the US delegation. “The international coalition forces will remain in the region to achieve a complete victory against ISIS, to support stability and strengthen the Autonomous Administration”, Abdi stated in his social media account.
