22 citizens were taken into custody under the allegation “helping the organisation” during house raids in the rural Xelîla (Kılavuz) neigbourhod of Dargeçit district of Mardin (Merdin) on January 11.
According to JinNews, 17 of them were released after their statements were taken by the gendarmerie.
Fahriye Ercan (74), Emine Gevcan (67), Rabia Arjin Gevcan Yiğit (23)(who is 3 months pregnant), Mustafa Aslan (45) and Mehmet Nezir Duman (59) are still in detention and being held in police custody.
The detention period of those detained, including three women who face health problems, has been extended for four more days.

Three months pregnant Arjin Gevcan told the court that she was at risk of miscarriage due to the stress, 67-year-old Emine Gevcan said that she has had nosebleeds for 4 days due to her illness and she requested to be released.
74-year-old Fahriye Ercan, who was taken to the on duty Judge with a request of an extension of her detention period, demanded her release telling the judge that her elderly husband was sick and that there was no one to take care of him.
‘I have a risk of miscarriage’
Telling the court that clean water and cleaning materials were not supplied, Arjin Gevcan explained that she is three-months pregnant and is at serious risk of miscarriage, and demanded her immediate release.
The court rejected all of the women’s requests for release, as the prosecutor demanded the period of detention to be extended for three more days.
