The lawyers of two villagers who were reportedly subjected to mass beatings and torture by Turkish soldiers on 11 September 2020 applied to the Constitutional Court on the grounds that their freedom to seek their rights was restricted.
The two villagers from Van in Turkey, Osman Şiban (50) and Servet Turgut (55), were reportedly subjected to mass beatings and torture and according to some reports, also hurled from a military helicopter by soldiers on 11 September. Servet Turgut died in hospital from his injuries. There is confidentiality order in the investigation file for them and detailed information from the file is not available.
