Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani have issued condolence messages following the death of Turkish MP and peace negotiator Sırrı Süreyya Önder.
Both leaders praised Önder’s lifelong dedication to peace and coexistence. Nechirvan Barzani described him as a “distinguished example of peacemaking and human dignity,” recalling his committed role in Turkey’s peace efforts as Deputy Speaker of Parliament and a member of the İmralı Delegation.
