KurdDao, an initiative aiming to bring global solidarity and awareness to the Kurdish freedom struggle, announced in the first days of 2023 a campaign named after the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi!’ (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement, to raise funds by selling non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

The campaign will gift everyone who makes a minimum donation of 0.1 ETH [a crypto-currency] via kurddao.org/mint, with a Freedom Flower NFT.
The Freedom Flower NFTs symbolise the philosophy of the Kurdish movement by using the Guldexwîn, meaning reverse tulip, a flower whose gene centre originates in Kurdistan and is also known as the “freedom flower of the mountains”.
The campaign includes a total of 10,001 NFTs, with a few designs of the symbolic reverse tulip. The number of NFTs represents the more than 10,000 Kurdish political prisoners currently being detained in Turkey.
This is the first NFT fundraising program in support of Kurds and the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadi’ movement.
The campaign will lend financial support to Kurdish cultural centres and workspaces around the world, where women can gather for female-led social and project development, as well as provide substantial legal defence to political prisoners in Turkey.
