President of Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) Nechirvan Barzani on Tuesday visited Turkey’s Southeastern province of Gaziantep (Dîlok), one of the cities hit by the devastating earthquakes on 6 February.
Barzani said that they cancelled all activities in their region due to the major earthquakes that affected 10 provinces in Turkey along with northern Syria and that there is mourning in every house in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Accompanied by the members of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), The President of KRI visited the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) Coordination Center and earthquake victims in tents set up in Gaziantep’s Nurdağı and İslahiye districts.
Barzani stated that he believes that Turkey will come out of this crisis as well and that they will continue to give their best support.
KRI recently sent emergency aid teams to Turkey after the powerful earthquakes.
