A Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) delegation, under Ahmet Karamus, engaged in significant diplomatic meetings in Washington to address Kurdish issues and regional stability on Wednesday. The delegation met with members of the U.S. Congress and State Department officials, alongside participating in roundtable discussions with eight different think tanks.
On their Washington visit, KNK co-chair Ahmet Karamus expressed that their proposals were well-received, reflecting on the discussions that covered a range of topics including the current state of the Middle East, Turkish military operations and upcoming elections. “Our meetings were conducted in a very warm atmosphere, and the response to our approach has been very positive,” stated Karamus.
Highlighting the importance of these meetings, Karamus mentioned the focus on the democratic processes in Turkey, the impact of regional military operations, and the overall stability of the Middle East. “The attitude towards the Kurdish side is seen as favorable here. Our discussions have been positive,” he noted.
The delegation’s next stop will be New York, where they aim to continue their efforts to foster understanding and support for Kurdish solutions and broader regional issues.
