Regarding the military deployment of Kurdistan Democratic Party ( KDP) forces in the Metina region which has been controlled by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) forces for the last 25 years, the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) issued a statement and called for common sense and to work for solutions to the latest developments in the region.
“The Kurdish people must take a common stance in order to foil the plans of Turkey,” it said.
The KNK also mentioned the massive explosion that took place while the KDP forces were deployed in the region of Metina. The HPG announced that the reason for the explosion has not been determined and that they had simply fired warning shots in to the air with personal small arms.
Despite this, some pro KDP media organs, having earlier reported the incident initially as an airstrike had changed the narrative and announced that it was an attack by the PKK.
“A group of peshmerga lost their lives in this tragic incident. There were also injuries. The Kurdish people and their friends are saddened by this incident” stated the KNK. It also mentioned the latest airstrike attack of Turkey against the UN-protected refugee camp of Makhmour.
“The emerging picture is clear and concise. The Kurdish people must take a common stance in order to foil Turkey’s genocidal plans. The problem between the Kurdistani powers should be resolved through dialogue. We appeal to all parties. Problems should be resolved through the dialogue method. In addition, all Kurdistani forces must fulfill their responsibilities.”
