Kurdistan Communities of Women (KJK) Coordination Member Besê Erzincan has revealed a written statement regarding Turkey’s military assaults in Garê, Iraqi Kurdistan. “The solution offered by Kurdish Leader Abdullah Öcalan brings the liberation of humanity”, she said and called on Kurdish people to react against the attack.
As the Turkish state escalates its trans-border military operations against North and East Syria, it has also launched assaults against the Garê mountain located in Duhok, Iraqi Kurdistan. The region of Garê is one of the Kurdish-run regions of Iraq, and also where the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) camps are located.
Besê Erzincan noted that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan showed great strength and resistance in İmralı prison while in isolation. She remarked on how Öcalan is often compared with South African Leader Nelson Mandela, and pointed to the worldwide campaign for his freedom, in South Africa, Italy, the UK, Egypt and many other countries.
On Turkey’s latest attacks, Erzincan said, “This is a continuation of the international conspiracy and policies of suppression”, and, ”the KDP is behaving as a collaborator by providing military assistance to the Turkish state”.
