Breaking his silence, presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu released his second video after the 14 May elections, addressing several key issues in a bid to appeal to a wide range of voters, and urging the youth to engage in the democratic process by casting their votes in the crucial second round of elections.
Kılıçdaroğlu directly addressed the youth and called on them to “blow the cobwebs away,” and actively participate in the democratic process.
“We will definitely, definitely win,” he asserted while encouraging voters to support his cause. “We did not find this homeland on the street. We will not leave our homeland to a mentality that has brought 10 million irregular refugees into our country today.” He strongly opposed the idea of surrendering the nation to those who are incapable of safeguarding its honour or addressing the influx of irregular refugees, which poses a threat to the country’s existence.
Kılıçdaroğlu also voiced his opposition to the objectification of women, acts of violence, and the targeting of children. He criticised Erdoğan, pointing out his alleged role in the past as the co-chairman of the Great Middle East Project (BOP), and expressed concern over his current influence from Russia.
The presidential candidate condemned the mentality that had failed to respond effectively during a devastating earthquake, prioritising personal gain over the lives of citizens.
Additionally, he denounced the government’s practice of polarising society and labelling citizens as terrorists on convenience. “We will not allow our homeland to be governed by a mentality that labels Kurdish citizens as terrorists when it suits them, or pious citizens as FETÖ members when it suits their agenda,” he said.
