Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) Central Executive Committee member, Duran Kalkan, spoke about the isolation of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in the High Security Prison in İmralı Island in Turkey.
Evaluating the isolation against Abdullah Öcalan and the decision of the Council of Europe, Kalkan criticized the silence of the Council of Europe’s Anti-Torture Committee (CPT). He emphasized that the situation in İmralı depends on the laws of Europe, not Turkey. He criticized the Council of Europe for not taking steps to stop the crime that is being committed against Öcalan in İmralı.
