Jin News website blocked once again

The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has once again blocked the Jin News website.

The publishing ban came into effect on 5 December, and the decision was made by the BTK on the grounds of Diyarbakır (Amed) 3rd Criminal Court of Peace’s verdict.

The decision was as follows:

“Referring to the verdict dated 04/12/2020 and no 2020/4213 ruled by Diyarbakır 3rd Criminal Court of Peace, a protection measure has been imposed on the website (jinnews12.xyz) by the Information and Communication Technologies Authority”.

30 media outlets blocked in the last month

The website can be accessed via http://jinnews15.xyz/

According to the Dicle Fırat Journalist Association’s latest press report, 91 journalists are imprisoned, and in November another eight were detained, two were arrested, five were sentenced to 20 years and three months in prison, and 47 are still on trial.

In addition, one newspaper was sentenced to an advertising ban, two television channels were fined, and access to 30 media outlets and one website was blocked.
