Avichay Adraee, the head of the Arab media division of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Spokesperson’s Unit, announced on social media that Israel had carried out air strikes targeting the tunnels of Hamas in Gaza. “Earlier tonight, two rockets were fired from the north of the Gaza Strip towards the coast near the city of Ashdod. In response, IDF fighter jets struck military targets belonging to Hamas in Gaza. Hamas will bear the consequences for terror activity against Israeli civilians”, IDF stated on Twitter.
A Palestinian security source told Agence France-Presse: “The occupation warplanes bombed an agricultural nursery and agricultural land in Rafah, south of the Strip, with three missiles. They also bombed an agricultural area in the town of al-Qarara in Khan Yunis, in the south of the Strip, causing significant material damage and no injuries were recorded.
