The family and relatives of Javad Heidari, who was killed by Iranian regime forces on 21 September 2022, were attacked by the regime forces while trying to hold a commemoration ceremony at his grave on the anniversary of his death.
Heidari’s sister, Fatemeh Heidari, announced on social media that two members of her family were injured, and her brother was detained.

“They took my brother Ruhollah hostage to prevent the commemoration of my brother Javad Heidari. They also arrested many of our relatives,” Fatemah Heidari said. Noting that her family is being held hostage by agents of the Islamic Republic, she added, “the internet is cut off in our village, and I have no contact with my family. I don’t know what they did to my family.”
Javad Heidari was killed during protests against the death of Jîna Masha Amini in morality police custody. Heidari lost his life due to a lack of medical attention after being shot by security forces on Hokm Abad street near Qazvin’s Mellat Park.
