A female student was taken to hospital on Thursday after she was violently assaulted by security guards at Azad University in the Iranian capital, Tehran, as reported on the Iranian Telegram channel “Progressive Students”.
According to the channel, a student from Azad University was subjected to physical violence by the university’s security guards on grounds of not adhering to the rules of hijab.
The message stated that the student was in a state of shock and had lost consciousness. So far there has been no further information on her state of health.
In the past few days, there have been reports of restrictions being tightened and clashes breaking out between students and university guards, as the latter take stricter measures against the former.
