If the news about İmralı is not true, then it is a ‘trial run’ for murder

“This should be the one demand: ‘Let Öcalan speak on behalf of himself.’ Any news that the regime will publish on Öcalan should not be believed. Öcalan’s life and security can only be proven by himself,” writes Veysi Sarisozen for Yeni Yaşam.

The most insidious tactic of a psychological war is preparing society for news that will create the biggest reaction.

This method of “making people become accustomed to bad news” about the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) leader Abdullah Öcalan has been used for years.

However, this last example is the most dangerous one yet, because a new phase of “getting used to the news of his death” seems to have been reached.

These constantly repeateded, ‘getting used to the news’ methods have devastating consequences.

They have one goal. To analyze or interpret the reaction. The first getting used to news creates public outrage.
Later another one comes. A new wave of reaction begins. They wait and then again apply the same method.

Experts in social psychology know that this wave of reactions finally create fatigue in society and people get tired, eventually.

The “false” news, one after the other, creates a tendency to “become accustomed to the news” after a while. Despite all the efforts of organisations, the masses become less reactive in time. The organised minorities who are disconnected from the masses, react increasingly to the fifth, sixth, seventh…. and tenth “news” upon the calls of the organisation.

But the reactions become marginalised with time.

While millions were reacting to the first news, this number decreases to thousands and hundreds in time

People have became aware of this method during these Coronavirus days while the authorities have been publishing news about the death tolls. They were publishing the death tolls slowly after the Soma Massacre and the earthquakes too. All Turkey witnessed the Supreme Election Board’s “election results” publishing method.

This method that has been used by the deep state and psychological war experts somehow tests people’s reactions to the false death news is, in reality, making people become accustomed to murder.

It tests the power of the possible reactions that could be forthcoming. They also make evaluatations about the context that the world is in. They examine the situation of the country. They look at the pulse of the opposition. If the situation is too bad for them to handle, they will postpone the “murder”. But if they find the opportunity, they will take action.

They “assassinate”. First, they spread the real news: they say “He’s dead”.

Then they spread another news saying “He is not dead…” Then the reactions stop.

Later another fake news comes saying “ He is not assassinated, he is sick and had a heart attack and the patient is in intensive care.” Later a deep state official disguised as a “doctor” declares that “the patient’s condition is getting better…”

Then the news continues saying “He is in critical condition”… “He gave his first life reactions…”. “He is in a coma…”. “He is out of a coma… “. “He is again in a coma …”

This might take days, weeks even months according to the situation. This is possible within the Imrali Prison System since it can not be controlled.

What should be done here regarding people’s psychology?

The first and most important thing to do is by not letting the masses stay in a passive position as concerned worried observers. Instead of asking “What is Öcalan’s situation?” and waiting for the answer, no, we must all pursue one goal, one demand.

This should be the ultimate demand: ‘Let Öcalan speak on behalf of himself.’

Any news that the regime will publish on Öcalan should not be taken into account. Öcalan’s life and security can only be proven by Öcalan himself.

To avoid this dangerous ‘becoming accustomed to bad news’ strategy of the Turkish state, a “Let Öcalan Speak” campaign should be organised very carefully. First of all the campaign should be organised amongst the Kurdish people, supporters and allies and should be firmly established. Protests should be organised gradually according to a specific calendar. The energy of the masses should not be wasted all at once, but accumulated step by step and millions should take actions at the end of the process.

I know that I am repeating what is already known and it is not easy to organise such campaigns under these circumstances. However, a peaceful campaign can never succeed in any other way.

Öcalan’s safety is not only for the Kurdish people, it is vital for the future of all of Turkey. Any threat on his life destroys Turkey’s future. And the Turkish people, who expect more democracy from an already destroyed Kurdish geography, suffer from this too.

The goal of this attempt would be against the opposition who has no plan to save Turkey from chaos.

There is a risk that the transition from chaos to fascism is possible. It would be a transition from fascism with “elections, parliamentary, opposition” to fascism with “no elections, no assembly, no opposition”.

That is why all the opposition should stand with People’s Democratic Party (HDP) and try to prevent a possible upcoming assassination in Imrali.
