The Amida concert series, organised by the Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO), presents live music in historical sites around Diyarbakır (Amed).
The fourth concert in the “The sound of the past: Amida Concerts” series took place in the Surp Giragos Armenian Church, one of the biggest churches in the Middle East’s Armenian community since the 16th century.
The artists sang in the Kurmanci, Dimilkî, Soranî, and Hewramî dialects of Kurdish as well as Armenian and Turkish melodies and kilams at the concert.
The first concert was held in the Hasuni Caves in the district of Farkqin. The second was performed in Zerzevan Castle in the ancient Roman town of Çermûg, and the third took place in the ancient city of Gelde.
The fourth concert was presented to the audience on DTSO’s social media accounts with the participation of MA Music artists and guest artists, mey (Armenian duduk) master Ertan Tekin and kemençe master Hashem Rashadat.
