Four members of the Asayish (Internal security forces) were reportedly killed and others injured in a Turkish drone strike on Thursday in Ayn Issa, northern Syria, the Rojava Information Centre (RIC) reported.
The Kongra Star Women’s Movement in the of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) also said that the four fatalities were members of Asayish (Internal security forces of AANES).
The drone targeted the car near the Tel Samen refugee camp, south of Ayn Issa. Preliminary reports say there are four dead and injured. This is the 11th drone attack on AANES in as many days and the sixth car that has been targeted this month, RIC added.
Latest reports say a civilian has also died as a result of their injuries received in a drone attack on Tuesday also in Ayn Issa.
On 22 July, three women, members of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), were also killed in a Turkish drone strike in Hasakah province, northeast Syria when leaving a forum to discuss the advances made for women during the Rojava revolution.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) report, this drone strike is the latest in a series of 38 attacks carried out by Turkish forces since early 2022, targeting areas under the control of the AANES.
