The first Internationalist Conference was held in Rojava with the participation of internationalists throughout the world. The conference was held under the slogan, “In the spirit of international struggle, we welcome the 10th anniversary of the Rojava Revolution.”
Internationalist Preparatory Committee member Şoreş Ronahî spoke to ANF about the conference.
Şoreş Ronahî draws attention to the importance of international solidarity and says that they should further develop solidarity among revolutionists of the world.
“For reviving the internationalism and an inclusive resistance worldwide against the capitalist modernity and fascism overall, there appeared so many oppurtunities thanks to the Rojava Revolution in the context of 21st century. Through this perspective of inspiration by this revolution, hundreds of internationalists arrived here and participated to Rojava revolution from diverse countries of the world since 2014 so far.”
Ronahî continued:
“The struggle of Kurdistan Liberation Movement since the very beginning, from ’70s so far, has performed a quite important role related to inspiring and offering incentives for socialist resistance movements not only in Kurdistan, and in greater Middle East but also for the whole humanity based on its insistence, resillience, thought and philosophy, in praxis.”
Şoreş Ronahî stated that there is an internationalist spirit in the character of the struggle in Kurdistan and said:
“Under the umbrella organisation of World Democratic Confederalism, we aim to unite all these struggles against fascism, colonialism, and capitalist modernity over the diverse countries of the world in order to support, empower, consult, and motivate with each other”
He gave the example of Che Guevera, Argentine Marxist revolutionary and a major figure of the Cuban Revolution
“Just like Che Guevera had called during his speech in the three continental conference that ‘let we create several more Vietnam-like resistances against the existing capitalism and imperialism’, we also call that ‘let we create several more Kurdistan-like struggles in order to enlarge the struggles against capitalism’”
