Peoples’s Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Feleknas Uca evaluated the manner in which the HDP was targeted by the Turkish state after the Gare operation in Iraqi Kurdistan. Speaking to Hawar News Agency, Uca stated that the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) alliance in Turkey has attacked the democratic nation project and Kurds through its approach to the HDP.
”There was a solution process between 2012 and 2015. However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attacked the Kurdish people by disrupting the solution process. He appointed trustees to municipalities. He imprisoned the HDP deputies. He detained intellectuals, journalists, lawyers and everyone who opposed this”, she said, adding: ”The AKP and MHP have built their existence through war. This fascism hurts everyone. Now, this fascist power is falling apart. This fascism was put into action not only against the Kurdish people, but against all people. The AKP and MHP alliance have taken war to such places as Libya, Cyprus, Armenia and Karabakh”. she said.
Deputy Uca stressed that the crisis in Turkey can no longer be hidden. ”Turkey is going through a political, economic and social crisis. The system has been turned upside down. There are femicides taking place every day. Kurdistan and Turkey have been turned into torture centres. Isolation conditions are being imposed not only on leader Abdullah Öcalan but also on all prisoners”, she said.
She also pointed out that the AKP and MHP wanted to hide the Gare operation’s failure: ”HDP Co-chairs have been targeted because they went to Imrali and Kandil during the solution process. They have also detained hundreds of HDP members. Their only aim is to make us forget this defeat. They try to hide their crimes by using ‘special methods’ of warfare. That’s why they attacked the HDP”.
‘The Turkish state wants revenge for the Kobanê victory’
”The Turkish state and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has gangs, together on the border of Kobanê and Pirsûs. The Turkish state has become a transit centre for ISIS gangs. Kobanê was liberated from ISIS. The Turkish state wants revenge for the Kobanê victory. Erdogan said Kobanê will fall, but Kobanê turned into victory”, stated Uca.
Uca further stressed that ”the Turkish state changed the demographic structure in Afrin and Serekaniye. They changed the education system to Turkish”. Following the attacks against the HDP, Feleknas Uca said: “The Turkish state imposes one language, one flag, one nation. However, we state that there are peoples and beliefs in Turkey. Monism is unacceptable. There are differences. They want to eliminate the HDP’s democratic nation system”.
Feleknas concluded by stating that “Kurdistan was divided with the Lausanne Treaty in 1923. Now, agreements are being made against the Kurdish people at the European meetings. Every state pursues its own interests. On the centenary of the Lausanne treaty, the Middle East geography will change.The Third World War is currently continuing in the region of the Middle East. The ruling states are acting against the democratic nation project”.
