Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will not stop at Turkey’s terrorists, he will wipe out the terrorists of the world, said the country’s interior minister on Saturday.
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu joined Erdoğan on Saturday for a programme that included an opening ceremony for various projects in the eastern province of Erzurum.
Soylu’s comments on anti-terrorism operations in Turkey and Erdoğan’s ambition to end terrorism across the world came in the aftermath of an attack in Paris against a Kurdish cultural centre that left three people dead and three others wounded on Friday.
The minister told the crowd that the country’s security forces have launched a new operation against fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Lice district, in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
Soylu visited Diyarbakır on Friday and vowed that the operation will continue until no terrorists remain in the area.
“We know that there are 21-24 terrorists in this region,” Soylu said. “They sometimes move from region to region. Our aim with the extensive operation we have launched is to clear those terrorists out of the region,” he said.
The interior minister on Saturday continued to make claims in relation to Turkey’s anti-terrorism operations. “We have just received news. I have informed the president. There were four terrorists left in [the eastern province of] Tunceli, and three of them have now been eliminated,” Turkey’s state news agency Anadolu quoted Soylu as saying.
“Tayyip Erdoğan will not stop at Turkey’s terrorists, he will wipe out the terrorists of the world!” Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said. “We have taken a step into Turkey’s century; there will be no terrorists left in the mountains of this country,” he added.
